I found calligraphy through my love of words and writing. Many years ago I was asked by a small arts publication for which I was doing free-lance work to cover the opening of a calligraphy exhibit. Not even sure what “calligraphy” was, I agreed to go. I walked into the exhibit and fell in love.... with the way that calligraphy lets you do visual things with words. I love just making individual letters and perfecting their shapes, but when a whole piece comes together there’s magic in the air!
